If I buy a packet of cards from a specific charity, does the money go back to that charity/trading subsidiary?

Yes, less a deduction to cover the costs of running the temporary Christmas card shops. Cards for Good Causes (CFGC) pays the participating charities (or their trading subsidiaries) at least 70p in every pound from their card sales, less the VAT payable on the amount retained by CFGC. In addition to these costs, the participating charities have to pay for the production and distribution of their cards.


Where does the money from the sale of Cards for Good Causes’ own range of Christmas goods go?

We buy items such as advent calendars, wrapping paper and gift tags and the profit from the sale of these helps to meet some of the costs of running our temporary charity Christmas card shops.

How can I pay for my cards online?

When you buy online you can use all major credit and debit cards.


How safe is the online shop?

Our website orders also go through Worldpay, a global multi-currency online payment processor, to offer a secure payment process.


How long does delivery take for online orders?

We aim to pack and despatch within two working days of getting your online order, although this can vary during busy times.


How much do you charge for postage?

For UK delivery we charge:

  • £3.99 on orders up to £18
  • £5.99 on orders up to £40
  • £6.99 on orders over £40


What do you charge to send cards overseas?

We are happy to send cards overseas. The cost depends on what you’re ordering and where it’s going to around the world. We calculate this depending on your order. Please drop us an email us at for more information on overseas postage costs.


Cards for Good Causes Shops

Do all shops have the same charities?

With a few exceptions, cards for all 25 member charities and are sold in the majority of our shops. Depending on the space available shops also sell cards from other guest charities, varying from large national charities to small local ones.


How can I find my nearest shop?

How can I pay for my cards in one of your pop-up shops?

Only our larger shops and some in Tourist Information Centres are able to take credit cards. If you want to use your credit card to bulk buy charity Christmas cards, we suggest you use our online shop.
