Around the globe many countries are celebrating the official Alternative Christmas Day on Sunday 25th July this year. It is an opportunity to see loved ones and have Christmas-themed activities, seasonal music and get in the Christmas spirit that was lacking for so many in December 2020.

At Cards for Good Causes, we will be getting in the Christmas spirit with our huge range of Christmas cards and gifts all raising funds for charity so why not join in the fun and support charity at the same time! It’s the perfect opportunity to hold a garden party with a theme. So, let’s celebrate with Santa, bring the ice-cream and enjoy some much-needed mid-year cheer.

Here are some ideas to celebrate on Sunday 25th July:

  1. Have a BBQ with Christmas-themed salads
  2. Play those Christmas tunes to get you in the Christmas spirit
  3. Decorate the garden with red and white Christmas coloured decorations
  4. It might be too warm for Christmas jumpers so why not decorate a Christmas t-shirt and see who can make the worst one
  5. Watch your favourite Christmas movie on a big garden screen

Most importantly, get together outside and have some fun with family and friends!

Jeremy Lune, CEO at Cards for Good Causes, said: "The idea of an Alternative Christmas Day in the Summer is a great excuse to have a garden party and enjoy some quality time with the family. This past year has been incredibly tough for so many reasons and we could all do with some mid-year cheer. With England lockdown rules coming to an end on Monday 19th July and many schools also finishing on that school week, an Alternative Christmas Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate on Sunday 25th July. Our Christmas-themed cards and decorations also raise much-needed funds for charity so it's great that this event can support them too."
