Cards for Good Causes is looking for shop managers to run its charity Christmas pop-up shops in locations across the UK.

Dumfries is one of the locations where a shop manager is needed this festive season so that local and national charities don't lose out on thousands of pounds.

The organisation, which runs the largest network of charity Christmas card shops across the UK, has had a presence in Dumfries for many years, but that is threatened without a manager to run the shop.

Vicky Monaghan, Regional Manager for Cards for Good Causes comments:

“We are desperately seeking someone to help us in this temporary role in the run up to Christmas. Without a manager, we are in danger of not opening our Dumfries shop at all this year, meaning charities would miss out on thousands of pounds. This temporary role is fun and rewarding, and could be great experience, so please get in touch if you are interesting in helping us support some great charities.”

The Cards for Good Causes shop in Dumfries sells cards on behalf of a wide range of local charities, as well as national charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support, NSPCC and the RNLI. The shop is located at St Mary’s Greyfriars Church hall in Dumfries town centre and opens from late October until mid December. The manager role is Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm, but there is flexibility.

Nationally Cards for Good Causes has raised over £40 million for the charities in partners in the past ten years. It runs a network of more than 300 pop-up Christmas card shops across the UK. These are supported by volunteers to ensure that as much money as possible goes to the charities. As well as a selection of hundreds of Christmas card designs, shoppers can choose from a growing range of products and gifts including traditional advent calendars and candles, wrapping paper, gift tags, napkins and stocking fillers. Buying a charity Christmas card is one of the easiest and most popular ways to give to charity during the festive season.
