Why volunteer for Cards for Good Causes?
Geoff Mortimer, Cowbridge “I promised my wife, just before she died, I would continue to fundraise for Marie Curie. That was 8 years ago and I’ve raised over £100,000 so far. I’ve volunteered for Cards for Good Causes for 3 years now; it’s sociable, gets me out of the house and of course I’m always promoting the Marie Curie Christmas cards!”
Gill Evans, Brecon “I’ve been a volunteer for Cards for Good Causes for 4 years. I like the fact that lots of charities benefit and it’s great I’m not committed to a set time so the work fits around my family. I love that it’s very sociable. There are always two volunteers on a shift so good company and it’s lovely to chat to all the people who come in.”
Virginia Robotham, Brecon “It’s a chance to meet people as I live on my own. It’s nice to have company for a while. I also like to find out what designs each charity has chosen - it gives me ideas for my own paintings as I am an artist.”
