The government lockdown in England has seen all Cards for Good Causes pop-up shops in England forced to close its shop doors for 4 weeks. It couldn’t have come at a worse time for the not-for-profit retailer as pop-up shops opened in October ready for the festive season; selling charity Christmas cards and gifts and raising vital funds for 250+ charities. In the past 10 years alone, Cards for Good Causes has raised over £40 million for charity and they were on target to raise over £1 million during November. The pop-up shops had been welcomed by local community groups and many customers in the previous weeks.

A Click and Collect service has now been brought in to ensure that the community can still support charities this Christmas. Customers can either go to https://www.cardsforcharity.co.uk/click-and-collect.html or call 01264 362 333 to purchase their Charity Christmas cards and gifts. They can then choose a pick up time to collect from their local shop. This way, Cards for Good Causes hopes to still support charities in this very difficult year. Current Click and Collect Shops include: Bath, Cambridge, Chichester, Dorchester, Durham, Edinburgh, Esher, Falmouth, Haslemere, Hinckley, Lewes, Louth, Marlborough, Petersfield, Sloane Street, Stamford, Sunderland, Tenterden, Tunbridge Wells, Wakefield, Winchester.

The not-for-profit organisation has a huge selection of charity Christmas cards and seasonal gifts with 100% of its proceeds given back to local and national charities - that’s at least 70p in every £1 taken from the sale of cards which is a much higher proportion than most other retailers. It represents more than 250 charities including Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s, Alzheimer’s Society and RNLI as well as a number of local charities.

Shoppers will also still be able to go to www.cardsforcharity.org.uk and choose from hundreds of different Christmas card designs, as well as traditional advent calendars and candles, wrapping paper, gift tags, napkins and stocking fillers.

Jeremy Lune, CEO for Cards for Good Causes, said: “The Cards for Good Causes team have worked incredibly hard over the last month including many volunteers who have given up their valuable time to get the shop safely ready for the festive season. November is a key month and this year we were on target to raise a staggering £1million in November. To lose this is devastating for the whole Cards for Good Causes team and the hundreds of charities that we support. We are thrilled that we can now offer a Click and Collect Service so that we can still serve our customers and raise those vital funds that our charities so desperately need this year.”
